Sijil Pelajaran Malaysia (SPM) 2010 students can check their application for IPTA for academic session 2011/2012 from 12am, 6 May 2011. You can check the status as follows :

Acceptance of Offer

All successful candidates must confirm acceptance within 7 working days or before 14 May 2011.
The confirmation can also be made online at respective IPTA. Please refer HERE
The successful candidate can also print details of offer through IPTA website starting 7 May 2011.

Appeal for UPU

You can submit your appeal here Permohonan e-Rayuan Lepasan SPM/Setaraf Sesi Akademik 2011/2012.
Candidates who fails to receive any offer from IPTA is allowed to appeal through e-Rayuan application to Bahagian Pengurusan Kemasukan Pelajar, Jabatan Pengajian Tinggi within 10 working days from 6 May 2011.
Deadline for appeal is 16 May 2011.
The result of this appeal will be announced 2 weeks of June 2011.

Check on matriculation applications

For those who have applied for matriculation programmes can check the status of their applications tomorrow. The Education Ministry said this concerned students who had completed their Sijil Pelajaran Malaysia and had applied from July 10 to Oct 10 last year.

There are few options to choose as follows :

The students are also advised to visit the ministry’s website at http://www.moe.gov.my before keying in their identity card number.
Applicants may also check via SMS by typing MOE MAT, followed by their identity card number before sending the message to 15888.

The ministry’s matriculation department can also be contacted at 03-8884 4088 from tomorrow. The hotlines are open on working days from 8.30am to 4.30pm.

Further questions regarding registration and fees may be obtained by visiting the ministry’s website or by contacting the respective matriculation or Mara colleges. The registration date for matriculation students is May 23.

Unsuccessful applicants may make appeals through the ministry’s hotline or website until May 13.

New academic term for institutions of higher learning

The academic term of the public and private institutions of higher learning (IPT) will start in September instead of July, said Deputy Higher Education Minister Datuk Saifuddin Abdullah.

This new system aimed at circumventing public and private IPTs from losing outstanding Sijil Pelajaran Malaysia candidates to foreign universities. “These bright students hardly have enough time to pick the best local IPTs after the SPM results, and ultimately they choose to study overseas, particularly in Singapore.

In addition, local IPTs failed to attract foreign students from pursuing their studies here as the academic term beginning July was not aligned with the summer break semester system abroad.

With the new academic year, the SPM leavers will have too much free time on their hands before the IPT intake in the September next year.

Permohonan Kemasukan Program Pra Universiti Sekolah Sukan Malaysia KPM Sesi 2010

Kementerian Pelajaran Malaysia invites eligible candidates to apply for the Program Pra-Universiti Sekolah Sukan Malaysia KPM intake 2010.

Eligibility

Candidates in category of National Athlete or in the Majlis Sukan Negara/Negeri sahaja program eligible to apply.
Pass SPM examination dan obtained distinction in Bahasa Melayu
Age below 20 years
Active in sports and certified by Majlis Sukan Negara and persatuan sukan kebangsaan.
Pass the interview.

How to apply

Please fill up online application form
Print up the application form and to get Coach comments, Sports Head.
Completed form together with relevant certificates can be forwarded to :

Update your KPM Matriculation Application

Netbook package by TM for students

As announced by Prime Minister Datuk Seri Najib Tun Razak in the 2010 Budget last October, Telekom Malaysia Berhad (TM) will offer a netbook package, including free broadband service, to 100,000 university students with a monthly installment of RM50 for two years. Priority will be given to first-year students and those from low-income families. The details of the programme will be announced soon by TM.

Apart from contributing towards increasing the broadband penetration rate and using the Information Communication Technology (ICT) to create a knowledge-based society, the package would also support the government’s efforts to strengthen human capital development.

Permohonan Kemasukan Ke IPTA 2009/2010

Jabatan Pengajian Tinggi has open application to all qualified Malaysian to pursue their studies at local IPTA for Diploma/Bachelor Degree/Pre-U programme for 2009/2010 academic session.
