Few websites has indicated that the PMR result 2011 will be out in 3rd week of December 2011. However, there is no official statement by Ministry of Education with regards to PMR result 2011.

How to check PMR Result 2011, we believe is quite similar to the recent UPSR 2011 result where you can either check it at your respective school and also through SMS services.

Biasiswa Kecil Yayasan Telekom Malaysia

Yayasan TM merupakan sebuah badan amanah yang berdaftar. Ia ditubuhkan oleh Telekom Malaysia Berhad di bawah Surat Ikatan Pemegang Amanah. Yayasan TMmempelawa pelajar-pelajar yang memenuhi syarat dan berkelayakan untuk memohon Biasiswa Kecil Yayasan Telekom Malaysia tahun 2010.

Syarat

Terbuka kepada semua pelajar di Tingkatan 1 dan 4 pada tahun 2010 di sekolah bantuan penuh kerajaan.
Calon di Tingkatan 1 mestilah memperolehi 5A bagi keputusan peperiksaan UPSR 2009.
Calon di Tingkatan 4 mestilah memperoleh sekurang-kurangnya 6A bagi keputusan PMR 2009.
Aktif dalam kegiatan ko-kurikulum.
Mempunyai pendapatan kasar sekeluarga tidak melebihi RM 1,500 sebulan.

Biasiswa

Mereka yang berjaya ditawarkan Biasiswa Kecil Yayasan TM akan menerima kemudahan berikut;

Elaun poket RM 1,000 setahun bagi pelajar Tingkatan 1 hingga Tingkatan 3
Elaun poket RM 1,500 setshun bagi pelajar Tingkatan 4 hingga Tingkatan 5
Berpeluang menyertai program-program pembangunan yang dianjurkan oleh Yayasan TM.

Cara Memohon

Permohonan hendaklah dibuat secara online dengan melayari laman web Yayasan TM.
Setelah permohonan dibuat secara online, salinan dokumen berikut dikemukakan;
- Sijil kelahiran/kad pengenalan.
- Salinan keputusan UPSR atau PMR 2009.
- Slip gaji/pengesahan pendapatan ibu dan bapa/penjaga.
- Salinan kad anggota bagi anak kakitangan Telekom Malaysia.
- Surat cerai/mati jika berkaitan.
Dokumen tersebut perlu dihantar kepada; Sekretariat Pemilihan Biasiswa Kecil, Yayasan TM, Aras 9 Utara, Menara TM, Jalan Pantai Baharu 50672 Kualal Lumpur

Tarikh Tutup

Permohonan secara online Biasiswa Kecil Yayasan TM ditutup pada 18 Februari 2010.
Dokumen yang berkenaan pula perlu sampai sebelum atau pada 26 Februari 2010.
Bagi permohonan yang tiada menerima jawapan selepas 3 bulan dari tarikh tutup hendaklah dianggap sebagai tidak berjaya.

PUTRAJAYA: A total of 28,188 candidates scored straight As in this year’s Penilaian Menengah Rendah (PMR), an increase of 1,108 students from last year, said Education director-general Tan Sri Alimuddin Mohd Dom.

Students’ overall performance in all 16 subjects in the examination also improved, he added.

“This year’s examination records a passing rate of 63.6% compared to 62.9% in the previous year. The National Average Grade (GPN) has also improved from 2.83 last year to 2.78 this year,” he told reporters when announcing the 2009 PMR results analysis here yesterday.

Subjects that dropped in pass rates and number of As scored were Bahasa Melayu, English and Punjabi but the dip was too slight for conclusions to be made, he said, adding that the highest improvement was for Geography.

Alimuddin said the gap between urban and rural schools had also improved with 4,775 rural students scoring straight As compared to 4,345 last year, adding that 56.9% passed the examination this year. Last year, the figure was 55.9%.

This year’s PMR also saw the introduction of four new creative arts subjects, namely Dance, Music, Theatre and Visual Arts.

The subjects were introduced in 2007 to Form One students at Sekolah Seni Johor Baru (Johor) and Sekolah Seni Kuching (Sarawak). Theatre had the highest achievement with 22.4% students achieving Band 4 (top band).

Of the 156 creative arts students, 12 scored straight As in their core PMR subjects.

Schools achieving the best National Average Grade were SMK Jalan Empat, Selangor (national school category); Sekolah Seri Puteri, Selangor (boarding school category); SM Imitiaz Besut, Terengganu (religious school category); and Kolej Yayasan Saad, Malacca (private school category).

In IPOH, Perak Education Evaluations and Examinations Management sector head Abdul Ghani Mohamad Niza said the state had achieved a 0.77% increase in passing rate with seven schools scoring 100% passes.

The schools are Sekolah Tuanku Abdul Rahman (Ipoh), SM Sains Telok Intan, Kolej Melayu Kuala Kangsar, SM Sains Raja Tun Azlan Shah (Taiping), SMK Taman Tasik (Taiping), Sekolah Berasrama Penuh Integrasi Gopeng and SMK Raja Permaisuri Bainun (Ipoh).

In MALACCA, State Education Department director Isa Abu said 1,074 students scored straight As, a 1.39% increase over the 879 last year.

SMK Sains Muzaffar Shah (Ayer Keroh), SMK Ghafar Baba (Masjid Tanah) and SMK Iskandar Shah (Jasin) had 100% passes, he said, adding that all 54 students of College Yayasan Saad (Ayer Keroh) scored straight As for the third consecutive year.

JOHOR Education department director Sufaat Tumin said 3,308 students scored straight As this year compared to 3,031 last year, while the number of passes increased to 34,477 compared to 33,945 last year.

Sixteen schools recorded 100% passes.

No reason to postpone exams over A(H1N1)

The government has confirmed that UPSR, PMR and SPM examinations will not be postponed due to the influenza A (H1N1). The reason of this decision is those who were down with the flu can sit for the exam at the hospitals subject to the doctor confirmation that they fit.

For records. the UPSR examination is scheduled for Sept 8 to 10 while the PMR examination will be from Oct 7 to 13. The SPM examination for Form Five students has been set for Nov 19 to Dec 16.

School exams will not be postponed due to A(H1N1)

UALA LUMPUR, July 29 — The Ujian Pencapaian Sekolah Rendah (UPSR), Penilaian Menengah Rendah (PMR), Sijil Pelajaran Malaysia (SPM) and Sijil Tinggi Pelajaran Malaysia (STPM) examinations will not be postponed despite the spread of Influenza A(H1N1).

Director-general of Education Tan Sri Alimuddin Mohd Dom said all national school examinations including UPSR in September would proceed and held in hospitals if necessary.

“We can’t change the examinations dates as we like. Candidates under treatment will have to sit for examinations in hospitals or in schools without the presence of non-candidate students,” he told Bernama here today.

Alimuddin said the Education Department would discuss with the Health Ministry and National Security Council soon on the best way to conduct the examinations.

Ten primary and secondary schools nationwide were closed for one week to contain the spread of the A(H1N1) virus.

“H1N1 preventive tools like mouth and nose masks, germicides and thermometers will be distributed to all schools soon to check the spread of the virus,” he said.

The UPSR would be held from Sept 8-10, PMR from Oct 7-9, SPM from Nov 19-Dec 16 and STPM from Nov 18-Dec 10. – Bernama

Yayasan TM Scholarship 2009

Yayasan Telekom Malaysia invites qualified students form 1 and form 4 to apply for their Biasiswa Kecil Yayasan TM.

Part of the requirement for this scholarship is 5A for for UPSR 2008 and 6A in PR2008. For details of the scholarship requirement, please read here. Application can be made by using the online application form and to be submitted by 29 February 2009.

My 2 cents :

Whoever get this scholarship will have better opportunity to be sponsored by TM for further studies. In fact the exposure that you will get during the sponsorship programme will make you better person. Go and apply this.

What Next after PMR ?

By now I guess most of the 2008 PMR candidates have received their PMR result. I believe this just a beginning of your future and there are lot of challenges that waiting for you ahead. For those who scored flying colours congratulations, and for those unlucky ones, don’t worries much as you have another 2 years to improve in your SPM.

Irrespective of your PMR result what next ? Of course for those obtained good result will have wider options to choose from. In this post, I would like to share few things that you can do after PMR :

For those obtained result you might want to try MRSM/Sekolah Berasrama Penuh. Get new experience, new friend and new challenges here.
For those more into technical courses, SM Teknik will best suit you.
Not many excellent students want to choose SM Vokasional, but if you think vocational courses is the best for you, don’t turn back just proceed.
Remain in your present school. Remember the best SPM students Azali Azlan & Nur Amalina came from normal school too.

Science, technical or Art Stream?

What course to choose? Where to go? For me this will highly depend on your interest, your result your capability and of course with some luck.

During my time, we used to have only maximum of 10 subjects, but now you can have as many as 20 subjects for SPM. For me this is ridiculous, don’t try to follow excellent students like Amalina and Azali. Take 10-12 is just enough !

Co-curriculum is important

If you are non-active students before PMR, try to change. Be active in any school activities, build up your leadership skills here. And guess what ? Your Co-curriculum activities involvement will be be one of the criteria for your future plan (i.e applying for matriculation, college, universities, scholarship, loan). So start now ! please.

PMR result out 30 Dec 2008

PETALING JAYA: The Penilaian Menengah Rendah (PMR) results will be released next Tuesday, Dec 30. Education director-general Datuk Alimuddin Mohd Dom will give the analysis of the results in Putrajaya at 9am on the same day.

Students can also collect their results from their respective schools from 10am.

A total of 472,060 students sat for the PMR this year at 3,458 examination centres nationwide from Oct 13 to 15.

PMR Examination Results are Out

I guess all candidates for Penilaian Menengah Rendah (PMR) should by now got their examination results. Based on reports, last year results is slightly better compared to previous year result.

Overall, more students scored straight As, from 4.5% last year to 5.9%. Five of the top scorers are special students.

For record a total of 469,401 candidates sat for the exam in 3,376 centres from Oct 1 to 5.

After PMR what next ?

In Malaysia, we have many options for PMR leavers to continue for the future SPM :
a) You can remains in the same school
b) Go for boarding school (SBP or MRSM)
c) Go for Technical/ Vocational schools
d) Private schools.
