Sekolah Kluster Kecemerlangan 2012

Kementerian Pelajaran Malaysia (KPM) has released another 14 High Performing Schools 2012 (HPS) (Sekolah Kluster Kecemerlangan 2012 ), bringing the total numbers of HPS todate to 66 schools. The Education Ministry’s aim was to identify 100 HPS by the end of 2012.

Muhyiddin said the objectives of the HPS were to elevate the quality of such schools and produce excellent students using holistic approaches. The third objective, he said, was to narrow the gap between schools in the system through coaching and networking.

Many of previous HPS has taken part in international programmes and competitions and established linkages with foreign schools and groups.

What are the benefits being a High Performing Schools ?

Each school will received allocation of RM700,000 yearly
HPS schools also given special allocations, incentives and training for leaders, teachers and non-academic staff
The school also given autonomy in curriculumn, financial and human resources management and student intake.

The details of the scholarship as listed below.

Entry Requirement

We need to ensure that your listening, written and spoken English skills will enable you to enjoy the full benefit of your studies. You will need an International English Language Testing System (IELTS) score of 6.5 or a Cambridge International Examinations English O level grade C or above, or an equivalent qualification.

In addition to meeting the University English requirements, you must ensure that you also meet the UK Border Agency English language requirements for your student visa when you transfer to Southampton. For more information see www.southampton.ac.uk/international/entry_reqs.

Other acceptable Qualification

As well as ‘A’ levels (as awarded in the UK secondary education system) we will accept a wide variety of international qualifications for entry to our courses.

Other Pre-U Programmes such as Bellerbys, Kaplan College, INTO, Nottingham, David Game College, Canterbury CATS etc	Applicants will be considered on a case-by-case basis depending on the programme of study, duration and grades achieved.

Your application will be passed on to our Admissions Team for consideration and a decision will be made within 10 working days. Confirmation will be sent to you via email.

Once you accept our offer, a non-refundable deposit of RM1000 is required. This will be deducted from your first semester’s tuition fees. We will keep you updated on the status of your application throughout the process.

Closing Date

SPM 2011 Result

The long period of waiting for all SPM 2011 candidates will come to the end soon. Eventhough, the minsitry of education have yet to announce on the SPM 2011 result release date but based on previous year, the result will be out early March.

If the trend unchanged, all candidates can get their result from respective school or through SMS which will be shared to all at later date.

Ajinomoto Scholarship for ASEAN International Students 2013 Application Guidelines

Objective
This program enables students from five ASEAN countries (Thailand, Indonesia, Malaysia, the Philippines, and Vietnam) wishing to enroll in a master’s course (major in one of the sciences) at the University of Tokyo, to secure scholarships before their arrival in Japan. It aims to cultivate individuals capable of leading Asia in the twenty-first century and to contribute to the development of Asia and the world as well as to mutual understanding between these countries and Japan.

Ajinomoto Post- Scholarship 2013 Details
Eligibility	Applicants who wish to enroll in a master’s course and major in one of the sciences (except medicine and veterinary medicine) at the University of Tokyo and who fulfill the following requirements and qualifications. Applicants must be citizens of Thailand, Indonesia, Malaysia, the Philippines, or Vietnam. Applicants must have graduated or be expected to graduate with an excellent academic record (with 16 years of education completed or expected to be completed) and must receive the recommendation of their university president or academic advisor or be otherwise qualified to enroll in the University of Tokyo. Applicants must be under the age of 35 on April 1, 2013. In principle, the applicant must be able to obtain approval of acceptance as a Postgraduate International Research Student (hereinafter “Research Student”), from the University of Tokyo and be registered as a Research Student for April 2013 or October 2013. However, the applicant may enroll directly as a master’s course student of some graduate schools in the University of Tokyo. In that case, the applicant must be able to obtain approval of enrollment from the University of Tokyo and be registered as a master’s course student for Apr 2013 or Oct 2013. Applicants must acquire adequate Japanese language proficiency that is required in order to research and study in a master’s course, when enrolling as a master’s course student of the University of Tokyo. Applicants must apply from the above 5 countries and be able to attend selection procedures when necessary. Applicants must be in good physical and mental health and have a strong motivation for learning. Applicants must not be receiving other scholarships.
Number of Awards	1 student from each of 5 countries (Thailand, Indonesia, Malaysia, the Philippines, and Vietnam)
Scholarship Package	a) Research Student at graduate school: ¥150,000/month (for max. 1 year) b) Master’s course at graduate school: ¥180,000/month (for max. 2 years) c) Examination, Admission and Tuition fees: covered in full d) Airfare (to and from Japan): covered up approximately to ¥200,000 (equivalent amount for economy class ticket. Actual amount in principle)

Other Info	Period of Scholarships Scholarships will be provided for max. 3 years, 1 year studying as a Research Student and max. 2 years studying in a master’s course. The scholarship will be suspended when the scholarship recipient fails to pass the entrance exam for a master’s course within a year after arriving to Japan if the recipient enters as a Research Student. If the recipient enters as a master’s course student, scholarships will be provided for max. 2 years. Application details of each graduate school of the University of Tokyo Applicants can enroll as Research Students or master’s course student in one of the sciences (except medicine and veterinary medicine) of the graduate schools in the University of Tokyo. Refer appendix 1 for details. Application Documents Application form (Form 1) and study program (assigned form) Transcript of scholastic record issued by the university or graduate school attended (no photocopies, written in Japanese or English) A letter of recommendation from university president or academic advisor (assigned form. Selection Process
1. 1st?Screening
The screening will be based on the received documents, such as research activities and study plans, university transcript and the letter of recommendation.
2. 2nd screening
The screening for the successful applicants will be based on the following documents.
a) Necessary document required by the Graduate School that the applicant wishing to enroll.-TOEFL Score, etc. (Refer appendix 2)
b) Certificate of Graduation (or Graduation Letter) or Student Registration Certificate
Note: An interview will be held for 2nd selection (in English or in Japanese)

Suspension or Termination of Scholarship
The scholarship will be suspended or terminated, if any one of the following conditions applies to the scholarship recipient: According to the circumstances, the scholarship amount already disbursed may be subject to repayment in full or in part:

False information found in the application form.
Receives any other scholarship.
Fails to pass the entrance examination to a University of Tokyo master’s course within one year after arriving to Japan (recipient who enters as a Research Student).
Fails to arrive in Japan by the appointed date.
Shows poor academic performance due to absence, lack of desire to study or being unable to keep up research for some reason.
Has difficulty continuing to study due to illness or other health problems.
Violates the rules and regulations of the University of Tokyo or the Ajinomoto Scholarship Foundation.

For all candidates who sat for the Malaysian University English Test (MUET) in year 2011, you can check the results of the Malaysian University English Test (MUET) on Thursday (Jan 12), according to the Malaysian Examinations Council.

Where to Check ?

Candidates who sat for the test at schools or higher learning institutions can get their results at the same from 10am on Thursday while the results of private candidates will be posted to them.

Alternative way to check MUET result

Alternatively, all candidates can also check their results through the short-messaging system (SMS) by typing MUET and sending to 15888 from 12.01am on Jan 12 or online by accessing the council’s portal at www.mpm.edu.my from 9am the same day,” the council said in a statement.

A total of 93,869 candidates set for the test at 943 examination centres throughout the country.

How to appeal ?

Candidates not satisfied with their results can appeal by paying an appeal fee of RM70. The deadline for appeals is Jan 27, 2012.

MyBrainSc Scholarship is open to all Malaysian who are now pursuing or to pursue studies undergraduate or postgraduate programme in physics, chemistry, biology or mathematics at public local institution of higher learning or reputable universities overseas.

There are 3 category of scholarship available under this MyBrainSc Scholarship Award :

Maybank Scholarship 2012

Maybank Scholarship 2012 is now open for application for all eligible candidates who want to pursue studies in local institution of higher learning in 2012.

The Maybank Scholarship Programme aims to provide full sponsorship for high quality students in local and foreign premier universities. It is part of the Group’s human capital development strategy to ensure a pool of leaders who can help Maybank achieve its vision as a regional financial services leader.

Maybank Scholarship 2012 Details
Eligibility	Not more than 23 years of age. Obtained admission to, or currently pursuing full-time Bachelor’s degree. Obtained minimum 2 As or its equivalent in STPM / Foundation / Pre-U or minimum CGPA of 3.00 in University. Leadership experience in at least 3 co-curricular activities (high school onwards). Individuals with high energy who seek a challenging and rewarding career upon graduation. Applicants must not be a recipient of any other scholarship or award from other organisations or foundations.
Field of Study	Accounting, Finance, Management, Marketing, IT, Economics, Banking, Actuarial Science, Mathematics, HR, Psychology, Business, Law, Statistics, Investment, Risk Management, Banking, Engineering
Scholarship Package	Full sponsorship (tuition fees, accommodation, laptop and allowances) Employment with Maybank after studies.
