INTI Education Group, a member of the Laureate International Universities network, recently announced it will provide 100 full scholarships for Master’s students of Business Administration and Information Technology.

Details of the scholarships will be announced in the first quarter of next year.

However, the value of the scholarships offered is in excess of RM3 million at current Master’s programme rates.

Those selected will be known as Riley Scholars, in honour of Richard W. Riley, the former United States Secretary of Education during the Clinton Administration, and a champion of making higher education accessible to those in need.

The announcement of the commitment by INTI Education Group was made at the Clinton Global Initiative (CGI) Asia meeting in Hong Kong as part of a global commitment by Laureate International Universities.

Laureate Education chief executive officer Douglas L. Becker says: “Our global network of universities will grant more than 1000 scholarships to deserving individuals so they can earn an advanced degree.”

INTI recently became part of the Laureate network which places emphasis on career-focused learning and internationalism.

INTI students will gain from the extensive resources of the Laureate network, which as of this month, stands at 42 accredited institutions in 20 countries serving more than 500,000 students.

“We will offer 100 scholarships over the next four years for Master’s programmes,” says INTI Education Group president Tan Yew Sing.

The CGI Asia meeting is a non-partisan initiative led by former US President Bill Clinton to foster innovative solutions to some of world’s most pressing challenges.

Laureate international Universities is a sponsor of the meeting, as well as lead sponsor of the education track.
