The 2007 Times Higher Education Supplement Quacquarelli Symonds (THES-QS) World University Rankings finaly released by The Times. So what happen to our Universities ranking, after a drastic drops in last year rankings ?The 2007 in general has recorded a drop in all Malaysia universities ranking which caused by change of methodology for the categories of peer review and citation for faculty. On top of Malaysia University is Universiti Malaysia which this year ranked at #246 compared to #192 in 2006.
The summary for Malaysian University as follows :
- UM (#246)/ (#192)
- USM (#307)/ (#277)
- UKM (#309)/ (#185)
- UPM (#364)/(#292)
- UTM (#415)/ (NA)
None of the private universities in the rankings, what happen actually. Does this means that Public Universites is very much better than them. Maybe government of Malaysia can thing something so that we can have our own University Ranking. I believe Lembaga Akreditasi Negara has all the required manpower, tools to do this rankings job.
