The study aid covers primary, secondary and tertiary education.

SEF Trustee Tan Sri Emeritus Professor Augustine S. H. Ong says: “There are many students who have the capability and desire to learn but not the means or the support to finish school.

“The foundation reflects our commitment to help these students break down the barriers that slow or prevent their educational success and ultimately their economic security.”

Thirty-two Malaysians between the ages of six and 16 were the first batch of recipients to be awarded under the Needs Category for Primary and Secondary School education.

Each student will receive financial aid amounting to RM2,500 to help cover fees and education-related expenses (i.e. tuition, books, uniform, shoes and bus fare).
